Today is a very special day, wonderful readers. I am excited to introduce not one but FOUR of the world's most precious babies. That's right - this is a quadruplets newborn photo session!
Meet The Fair Four. From left to right, in reverse birth order, we have Helen, Frances, Mary "Catherine", and Harry, also known as #thefairfour.
This week I had the amazing experience of assisting the talented Samantha from Miracle Kisses with a once-in-a-lifetime quadruplet newborn session. As you can see from these sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes photos, it took a team to get everyone in place for this beautiful family photo session. Parents Ted and Hannah were friendly and joyful, and the babies were absolutely adorable. It was a true privilege to get to work with this sweet family. They have been kind enough to allow each of us to share their incredible story.
Quadruplets Newborn Photo Session Behind-the-Scenes
After five years of trying to start a family, including two unsuccessful rounds of IVF (in vitro fertilization), Ted and Hannah Fair were not ready to give up. The couple decided to give another lower level intervention, known as IUI, one last try. To everyone's surprise, the procedure was a success! The Fair's fertility specialists told them they find times like this humbling because it is so rare to have success with IUI after ineffective IVF cycles. At the initial ultrasound, the parents were overjoyed to discover three healthy heartbeats. At their 8-week appointment, they were shocked when their doctor discovered a fourth.
Hannah credits a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy to swimming pool sessions and a positive outlook, even during her final six weeks of pregnancy, on supervised partial bed rest. On January 22, the quadruplets were delivered by a team of nearly two dozen, at Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver. All four babies transferred to the NICU at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children for a short four-week stay. After passing all health checks and developing strong feeding habits, The Fair Four were finally able to go home with Mom and Dad. Ted and Hannah consider themselves blessed to have healthy babies and a support system including Hannah's mother, who has been invaluable in helping care for The Fair Four.
This newborn photo session was the first time parents Ted and Hannah have ventured from home will all four babies at once. Usually, for pediatrician visits and such, they take two at a time while the others stay back at home with their grandmother. They say a divide and conquer or "assembly line" strategy, and a set schedule are helping with daily life with forty tiny fingers and forty tiny toes. As you can see, our photographer team didn't mind jumping right in to lend a hand. We didn't want to put them down!
The Fair Four are quickly becoming something of a sensation here in Denver. Ted and Hannah say they can already see each of the set has their own independent personalities. Like most multiples, they are happy to be by each other's side. Didn't get enough of the cuteness? You can follow #thefairfour on both Facebook and Instagram at the links below. The parents will release final images from this session soon.
Thanks again to Ted and Hannah for allowing me the honor to join in on this incredible family's special session. I cannot wait to see The Fair Four grow!
